History & Requirements
The North Carolina Senior Softball Hall of Fame was established in 2025 to recognize and honor those who have achieved notable success and/or made outstanding contributions to the initial and ongoing success of Senior Softball in the State of North Carolina. There are six (6) distinguished categories of which nominated candidates may be selected for membership.
Nomination and Induction Categories:
Process:
- To be considered the candidate must be at least 60 years old and be nominated.
- Nomination may be made by Nominating Committee Members, the Candidate, or by Others.
- The application packet and its accuracy is completely the responsibility of the applicant. The following must be submitted:
- Application Form
- Brief Narration of Playing experience and history
- Letter of Recommendation from former Managers, Players, Sponsors, or NCSSHOF Members.
- Portfolio showing Senior Softball Awards which may include photos, copies of news articles, verification from Association Officials, or by other means, and is the responsibility of the Nominee for complete accuracy.
- Two 3” x 5” [Passport type] pictures of the Applicant (Nominee – Uniform Suggested)
- Application (Administrative) Donation $50 (Make Check payable to NCSSHOF)
- Once the application packet is reviewed for all components, it will be submitted to the Nominating Committee for review. The Nominating Committee will vote whether to select or not select each individual nomination.
- A member of the Nomination Committee will notify (only) the successful candidates.

Category Details:
Players
- Must have played Senior Softball for at least ten (10) Years
- Minimum of five (5) years playing on a North Carolina Tournament Team, or
- Minimum of three (3) years on a Tournament Team and seven (7) years on a Local League, which may run concurrently
- Men must be at least 60 years old. Women must be at least 55 years old.
- Men must have accumulated a minimum of 12 documented points.
- Women must have accumulated a minimum of 9 documented points.
Points:
North Carolina Senior Softball Hall of Points may be earned in the Tournaments as designated below: (Points may only be earned after the age of 50)
Qualifying Tournaments:
- ISSA Great Smokey Mountain Senior Classic
- ISSA Spring National Championships
- ISSA WBSC Senior World Cup
- ISSA World Championships
- ISSA US Open National Championship
- USA Senior National Championship
- SSUSA Atlantic Coast Championship
- SSUSA Eastern National Championship
- SSUSA World Championship (Team Awarded MVP)
- ISA Senior World Championship
- SPA Ridge Hooks World/Triple Crown Championship
Point Awards:
- All American, All Tournament, MVP Offense, MVP Defense:
- Major Plus – 1 Point
- Major Gold – 1 Point
- Major – 1 Point
- AAA – 1/2 Point
- AA – 1/2 Point
Managers:
Must be at least 60 Years old and have managed teams which have won a minimum of ten (10) Tournaments (1 pt/Tourn.) of those designated in #2 above.
Umpires:
Must have umpired Senior Softball for a minimum of ten (10) years in the State of North Carolina. Must also have umpired in a National Championship Tournament for a minimum of five (5) years.
Tournament Directors:
Must have served as a North Carolina Senior Softball League Official for a minimum of five (5) years and/or directed Senior Softball Tournaments for a minimum of five (5) years.
Sponsors:
Must have faithfully sponsored a Senior Softball Team in/of the State of North Carolina for at least ten (10) years.
Special Achievement:
Any and all other categories which deem organizational or individual effort which has significantly and notably contributed over a number of years to the growth and success of Senior Softball in the State of North Carolina. Pioneer players who have reached a minimum age of 80 years old who have participated in Senior Softball for a minimum of 10 years and accumulated at least 5 points may be considered under the identified categories above with less points accumulated as they may never have had the opportunity to win as many points as the players today.
