The crack of a bat, the scent of fresh-cut grass, and the shared laughter in a dugout after a hard-fought double-header—these are the threads that weave the rich history of senior softball in our state. Established in 2025, the North Carolina Senior Softball Hall of Fame (NCSSHOF) was created to recognize and honor those who have achieved notable success and made outstanding contributions to the game we love.
We invite you to help us preserve this heritage by nominating the legends who define our sport. Whether they are players, managers, umpires, directors, or sponsors, we are looking for those whose careers are defined not just by stats, but by the highest standards of sportsmanship and character. We particularly wish to honor our Pioneer players—the trailblazers who may not have had the opportunity to earn points in today’s modern tournaments but whose “spirit above and beyond” built the foundation of North Carolina softball.

Your contributions—including the $50 administrative donation required for each application—directly support the rigorous vetting and voting process conducted by our Election Committee to ensure only the most deserving candidates are selected. By contributing, you are not just funding an organization; you are protecting a legacy of excellence and ensuring that the “most influential factors” of this sport—its people—receive the highest honors they have earned on the North Carolina diamond.
Honoring the Legends: Submit a Nomination
Every great journey on the diamond begins with a single pitch, and every legacy in the North Carolina Senior Softball Hall of Fame begins with a story worth telling. Whether you are reflecting on your own decades of dedication or honoring a teammate whose “spirit above and beyond” defined the game, we invite you to submit a nomination.
Nominations may be made by Nominating Committee Members, the candidate themselves, or by others who have witnessed the excellence of our players, managers, umpires, tournament directors, and sponsors. This is your opportunity to ensure that the highest standards of character and sportsmanship are recognized and that the “most influential factors” of your softball journey are preserved for the next generation.
To help us capture the full history of our nominees, the process requires more than just statistics; it is a tribute to a lifetime of participation. Each application must include:
- A Brief Narrative: Sharing the story of the nominee’s initial start in the sport, their experiences to date, and a summary of how they feel about Senior Softball.
- Letters of Recommendation: Heartfelt testimonials from former managers, players, sponsors, or current NCSSHOF members.
- A Portfolio of Memories: Documented proof of notable success, which may include photos, news articles, and Senior Softball awards.
- The Details: Two 3”x 5” passport-type pictures (wearing a team uniform is suggested) and a $50 administrative donation to support the Election Committee’s review.
Whether you are nominating a Pioneer player who built the foundation of the sport or a contemporary icon with at least ten years of tournament or league experience, your contribution is vital. Please ensure all submittals are accurate and complete, as this narrative will become a permanent part of the history and ongoing success of Senior Softball in the State of North Carolina.
